Philippines’ cell pockets GCash closes on $1bn valuation with new funding – FinTech Futures


GCash, a Philippines-based cell pockets agency, has raised $175 million to deliver its valuation near $1 billion in complete.

GCash claims 33 million Filipinos used its service in 2020

ASP Philippines, a companion fund of New York-based Bow Wave Capital Administration, led the financing spherical.

Bow Wave’s funding is a primary for the agency within the Philippines. A part of the deal sees it take a minority funding in GCash.

GCash is a subsidiary of Globe Fintech Improvements, often known as Mynt. The agency claims $21 million in gross transactions in 2020 from 33 million customers.
